about

Wrote a new song, sent to Caleb Hyles to make lyrics and vocals with the lyrical concept I thought of.

Song is about the times in life where you realize that letting someone go is healthier and better in the long run; even though you hope to fix it, you realize that it's been eating away at both of you and tearing you apart. You have to learn to let go.

lyrics

LYRICS:

Your pain, like gravity, is pulling me down
But still, I reach out for your hand, not knowing if I'll fail
In quicksand, trying to escape or just accept my fate
Being with you, it cannot not, will not become my mistake

There's nothing left here, withering slowly,
We lost our love long ago
Retreat into fears, now this is my home
Stay away, please do not come near

I keep thinking that I'm onto something
I keep thinking that I've figured it out
Another hit, another miss, and maybe one day I can rest and they'll have learned to live without

Who we are and who we want to be in life
Is the journey of a thousand broken nights

But with every hour that I heal for you
Is another hundred days I steal from me

Don't blame yourself for my fall
I couldn't hold on with both hands

I always held one back for me
While you gave more than everything

Your pain, like gravity, is pulling me down
But still, I reach out for your hand, not knowing if I'll fail
In quicksand, trying to escape or just accept my fate
Being with you, it cannot not, will not become my mistake

There's nothing left here, withering slowly,
We lost our love long ago
Retreat into fears, now this is my home
Stay away, please do not come near

The time I'm alone, me and the moonlight
Keep my head down to numb the pain
The light in my eyes, reflected in you

I have traded my soul in your name
Maybe one day you will give it back to me

A decision that I'm trying to avoid
But a decision that could save you and me

I don't want you to leave, I just want you to be
But I can't save you while you're with me

Is this what it feels like, to be on your own again?
The colors are brighter than I remember...
Tingling sensations trickle down my spine
Was I suffocating this whole time? This whole time....

Can't remember the last time I felt this way
A beginning with no fear in sight, and a future I cannot see

This may be the last that you will ever hear from me
So listen carefully
You were everything that I ever could have wanted or needed
But being with you shouldn't feel just like giving up, or rather, giving in
And as time went on I slowly lost myself in trying to keep us both alive

I can hear you now, saying "what can I do to fix this?"
There's nothing you can do to fix this. I promise you're not alone.
It's the hurt deep inside that has kept you from feeling alive, but I am not your savior
I am not a savior
I can't be a savior
